( I am linking up with Kate Motaung at Heading Home for another Five Minute Friday. This week, Kate chose the word “CHANGE” for us to write about for 5 minutes, no editing, nothing fancy. “Don’t overthink it. Don’t worry about grammar and spelling and sentence length…just let it flow for 5 unbridled minutes!”)
Friday already? Didn’t I just write a “Five Minute Friday” ? Last week I wrote about my plan for weekly menus so Jon and I wouldn’t be frustrated each day with “what to eat for dinner.” Good plan.
Well, a good plan but maybe for next week or the week after that when school starts. Maybe by then my life will have some order to it, but right now I’m once again sitting in a hospital room beside my husband’s bed doing 24-hour-duty (actually rotating 24-hour duty) with Bo’s caregiver, Jon and all we do is sleep then come back here to oversee Bo’s care.
He can’t be alone. The nurses wouldn’t be able to care for him. Well, let me re-word that. The nurses wouldn’t be able to care for him as we do. He would be getting out of the bed, pulling out his IV. No one would be able to keep him dry and clean. All they do is pump fluids into his body plus he had a test during which they gave him MORE fluids, topped off with a diuretic! He’s like a human hose.
But, I digress. So, life is changed again and we’re all doing the best we can, where we can. Hopefully this will change soon and life will find some order again.
